The Sixth Floor is located at Level 6 of Selborne/Wentworth Chambers at 174-180 Phillip Street adjacent to the Supreme Court building.

The Sixth Floor also has an Annexe that provides accommodation for licensees, readers and conference rooms on levels 9, 10 and 11 of Lockhart Chambers in Macquarie Street with internal access to the Selborne/Wentworth building.

The Sixth Floor currently has 50 barristers, including 18 silks and 4 readers. The principal practice areas of floor members are commercial, equity, administrative, tax and competition law.

The Sixth Floor has a proud tradition of members taking judicial appointments. The current Chief Justice of New South Wales Spigelman CJ, Justice Beazley and Justice Tobias of the Court of Appeal, the Chief Judge at Common Law, McClellan CJ at CL, Nicholas J, Kirby J and McCallum J (Supreme Court), Edmonds J and Flick J (Federal Court) are all former floor members.
